This year, HGV selected the ANNIKA Foundation as the primary beneficiary of the tournament. Annika Sörenstam started the ANNIKA Foundation in 2007 to provide opportunities in women’s golf at the junior, collegiate and professional levels while encouraging children to lead healthy, active lifestyles.
The ANNIKA Foundation annually conducts six tournaments around the world, with 600 girls from 60 different countries competing. Since 2014, the foundation has also annually hosted the ANNIKA Intercollegiate presented by 3M, a tournament featuring 12 top Division I programs. With the support of the Haskins Commission, the foundation created the ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel, which is given each year to the best female collegiate golfer. At the grassroots level, it also conducts several “Share My Passion” clinics each year to introduce kids to the game. Currently, 65 past ANNIKA players compete on the LPGA Tour, and 146 have Symetra Tour status.
